There Is Hope in Jesus Christ.

I know what it is like to carry deep wounds, painful memories, rejection, childhood abuse, grief, and years of believing lies about my worth and identity, and although I trust God, I still experience struggles; struggling does not mean God has abandoned us, but can become a place where He draws us closer, teaches us to depend on Him, and reveals His truth more deeply. God has prepared me for this ministry through personal suffering, healing, biblical study, spiritual formation, and years of learning to follow Jesus through every season of life. He also used two important men in my journey: my husband, Joseph Johnson, who passed away in 2024 and helped lead me to salvation and encouraged my relationship with Christ, and Pastor Joseph Pedroza, who challenged me to read the New Testament and helped begin a transformation in how I understood God.

Along with these experiences, my theological education—including my current pursuit of a Doctor of Christian Leadership with an emphasis in Spiritual Formation—helps me teach God’s Word carefully and faithfully. One question now guides my life, ministry, and writing: What Did Jesus Do? By studying how Jesus loved, taught, forgave, served, prayed, suffered, welcomed the rejected, and walked alongside the broken, we discover the heart of God and a pattern for faithful discipleship. God has taken my story of pain, rejection, abuse, grief, and restoration and, by His grace, is using it for a ministry of compassion, hope, biblical teaching, and discipleship.

My desire through Servant of God Christie is to point others to Jesus Christ and help them recognize God’s truth rather than believe the lies that have shaped how they see themselves. Whether you are taking your first step toward Jesus or have walked with Him for many years, my prayer is that these resources help you know Him more deeply, understand what He did, follow Him more faithfully, and experience His transforming work in your life—remembering that your wounds do not define you, your struggles do not disqualify you, and the lies spoken over your life do not have the final word; God’s truth does, and He is still writing your story.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

- Psalm 147:3

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Matthew 11:28

Understanding the Nature of Healing

Healing is often perceived as a purely physical process, but it encompasses much more. It involves emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions. When we talk about healing through faith, we refer to a holistic approach that acknowledges the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit.

Emotional Healing

Emotional wounds can be just as debilitating as physical injuries. Many individuals carry burdens of grief, anxiety, and depression. Faith in Jesus Christ offers a pathway to emotional healing through:

  • Prayer: Engaging in prayer allows individuals to express their fears and hopes, fostering a sense of connection with God.

  • Community Support: Being part of a faith community provides a support system where individuals can share their struggles and receive encouragement.

  • Scriptural Guidance: The Bible offers numerous passages that speak to healing and comfort, such as Psalm 147:3, which states, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Spiritual Healing

Spiritual healing involves a deep connection with God and understanding one's purpose in life. This can lead to a sense of peace and fulfillment. Key aspects include:

  • Faith and Trust: Believing in God's plan can alleviate fears and anxieties, allowing individuals to surrender their worries.

  • Forgiveness: Letting go of grudges and seeking forgiveness can free individuals from emotional burdens, promoting spiritual growth.

  • Worship: Engaging in worship can uplift the spirit and foster a deeper connection with God.

Physical Healing

While faith may not replace medical treatment, many believers report experiencing physical healing through prayer and faith. This can manifest in various ways:

  • Miraculous Healings: Some individuals have experienced unexplained recoveries attributed to their faith.

  • Improved Well-being: Faith can lead to reduced stress and anxiety, contributing to better overall health.

  • Holistic Practices: Many faith communities incorporate holistic practices, such as prayer and meditation, which can enhance physical health.

Personal Stories of Healing

To illustrate the power of faith in healing, consider the following personal stories:

A Journey from Grief to Hope

Sarah lost her mother to cancer and found herself engulfed in grief. She turned to her faith for comfort. Through prayer and the support of her church community, she began to heal emotionally. She found solace in scripture, particularly in Matthew 5:4, which says, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Over time, Sarah transformed her pain into purpose by volunteering at a local hospice, helping others navigate their grief.

Overcoming Anxiety Through Faith

John struggled with anxiety for years, feeling overwhelmed by life's pressures. After attending a faith-based support group, he learned to lean on his faith. Through prayer and meditation, he found peace. He discovered that Philippians 4:6-7 resonated deeply with him: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." This verse became a mantra for him, guiding him through challenging moments.

Practical Steps to Embrace Healing Through Faith

If you are seeking healing through faith, consider the following practical steps:

Engage in Daily Prayer

Set aside time each day for prayer. This practice can help you articulate your feelings and connect with God. Consider journaling your prayers to track your journey.

Join a Faith Community

Being part of a supportive community can provide encouragement and accountability. Look for local churches or faith groups that align with your beliefs.

Study Scripture

Dedicate time to reading and reflecting on the Bible. Choose passages that speak to healing and comfort. Memorizing verses can also provide strength during difficult times.

Practice Forgiveness

Identify any grudges or resentments you may be holding onto. Work towards forgiveness, both for yourself and others. This can be a powerful step towards emotional and spiritual healing.

Seek Professional Help

While faith can be a source of healing, do not hesitate to seek professional help if needed. Therapists and counselors can provide valuable support and guidance.

The Role of Faith in Modern Healing Practices

In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the role of faith in healing practices. Many healthcare providers now acknowledge the importance of addressing spiritual needs alongside physical health. This holistic approach can lead to improved patient outcomes.

Integrating Faith into Healthcare

Some hospitals and clinics offer spiritual care services, providing patients with access to chaplains or spiritual counselors. This integration allows patients to explore their faith and find comfort during challenging times.

Research on Faith and Healing

Studies have shown that individuals with strong faith often experience better health outcomes. For example, a study published in the Journal of Religion and Health found that regular attendance at religious services is associated with lower rates of depression and anxiety.

Conclusion

Finding healing through faith in Jesus Christ is a deeply personal journey that can lead to profound transformation. By embracing prayer, community support, and scriptural guidance, individuals can experience emotional, spiritual, and even physical healing. Remember, healing is not always instantaneous; it often requires patience and perseverance. As you navigate your healing journey, hold onto the promise found in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Take the next step in your healing journey today. Whether through prayer, community, or personal reflection, allow your faith to guide you toward a place of peace and restoration.
